Users sometimes post inadvertently to the wrong period, so it would be helpful to provide a way to prevent these errors.
This would be nice to be able to flip a switch that would stop someone from posting to a prior period. For example I start my financial statement reconciliation right after the 10th of the month for the previous month and I may spend 2-3 days doing this and another 2-3 days reviewing the financial statements with management before I finalize everything and close the period. I would like to be able to stop anyone else from posting to that period during that review period so nothing changes without me knowing about it.
Please include the manufacturing module in this enhancement also.
As part of the period locking, this is completed for the upcoming 2013 version (Q4 2012 planned release) of Sage 500 ERP
