When exporting data to Excel from Business Insights Explorer, the data exported should match the columns displayed. Currently, the resulting spreadsheet contains all data in the underlying data collection even when a subset of these are selected for display in BIE.

Comments

  • Although this seems to be a small irritation, having to find and delete all the unwanted columns every time data is exported from BIE to Excel is both frustrating and an unnecessary waste of time.

  • I'm pretty sure that most BIE and Excel users know this, but just in case someone doesn't, this issue is very easily solved by simply configuring the BIE report as desired, and then doing a "Ctrl-A", "Ctrl-C", open Excel, and "Ctrl-V."

  • And a LOT FASTER than waiting for BIE to write out each row on a large dataset.

  • This feature is included in the 7.4 release.
