In the Generate Shipments application, have the shipment number displayed to the user once the system has created it. The display of the shipment number could function similarly to the Create Pick List application.

This will save the user having to preview the shipment report in order to note the shipment number. Users often forget to do this step and then have to waste time finding the shipment number before being able to perform tasks associated to that number.
