Mas 500 needs to stay up to date with Sql Server updates.
SP2 has been out since Sept 2010 and is not supported by MAS at this time and I have been advised there is no ETA.

• For 7.3, we started supporting SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 on Dec 2010 PU.
  For 7.4, we support SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 at release to market.
  For 2013 release (Q4 2012 planned release) we will also support SQL 2012
