We have situations where we take components issued to a work order and send them out to a Vendor for machining/processing/testing. We accomplish this through the use of a PO for a generic Farm-out item which is auto-issued to the outside processing step on the work order. This does not provide visibility as to the inventory that we've provided to the Vendors.
We need some method of connecting the raw/semi-finished parts sent to the Vendors with either the step on the Work Order or with the related PO.

We don't use work orders - a heavily debated topic - which I think the benefits far outweight the negatives. Anyway, has anyone come up with a streamlined way to track outside processing without work orders? Signed, Work Order-less & Hating It
