On the 'Options' tab in MRP, a Start Date must be set to identify the beginning of the MRP plan you are creating/running. If this date is set to a date in a future month, MRP will still consider Projected Demand that may exist for the current month. A workaround for this problem is for the user to set their Business Date to a future month before running MRP, and then change it back when they are done. We think that a better design would be for MRP to ignore Projected Demand for any period that is prior to the Start Date of the MRP plan. When running MRP, if we set the Start Date to the first of next month, that means we no longer care about any Projected Demand for the current month. Current month Projected Demand is old news at that point.
Our plant manager wants this so that the people who are operating MRP will not have to adjust their current Business Date when they run MRP if they want to exclude current month Projected Demand.
