When entering inventory transfers the cost show on the entry screen is not always the cost that actually gets processed when posting the batch.

During entry processing, the unit cost for transfer out IM transactions is the Landed Unit Cost. However, the actual posting process will use the current available cost tier based on the valuation method – IE: FIFO. The FIFO cost tier may or may not be the same as the unit cost listed in the Landed Cost.

This has caused accounting lots of extra work as what was anticipated going through for write-offs and inventory adjustments has been a different amount than expected.

  • Much the same, if we do IM Purchase Returns and/or issues, we do not have the capability to enter the unit price, or see it until the batch is about to post.
