Prior to Sage 500 2013, Sage allowed customers to decide where they would like to store customer credit card records. However, starting with Sage 500 2013, Sage took this choice away from customers and force them to store all customer credit cards in the "cloud" on Sage payment services.

The choice of where customer credit card data is stored should not be made by the Sage but by the Sage 500 customer who is responsible for the data. Even though the 'cloud' is an ever growing technology used today, some customers who use Sage 500 are not comfortable with placing sensitive data from their systems into it and would rather have the data reside onsite within their SQL Server database.

For these customers, Sage runs the risk that they quit using Sage 500 (or any Sage product that integrates Sage Payment Services in the same manner) and move to another product that allows them the choice of where they would like to store customer credit card data.

It is recommended Sage re-add the ability to allow Sage 500 owners to choose where they would like to store customer credit card data (local or on the cloud) to meet their business and security needs.
