Some customers are not charged for freight, but the actual charge for the freight is still associated with the shipment and should be posted properly in the ledger.

When a shipment is committed, the amount of the Actual Freight should be posted to a GL Account so it can be reconciled when billed from the freight company.

Proper handling of freight charges within the system, whether you are talking about SO/AR freight or PO/AP freight, has been problematic for us for as long as we've been using Sage 500. It would be great if freight posting in Sage 500 could be improved at some point.
