We need a way to speed up the process of creating PDF in X3. It wasn't a big deal before, but now the business is moving more and more toward paperless, it's becoming a increasing need.
For creating a PDF for a record, instead of going through the print function and manually enter the record number (like Invoice Number) as the file name, it would be nice give us a ability to customize a "PDF creation" buttion to automatically take a specified field as the file name, and export the PDF file to the pre defined location. Once setup, the process could be done in one click by the user.

This is a good idea. It would also allow one to seamlessly go from a document, like a sales order, right to e-mail as a PDF without going through the multiple current steps to get there....
This worked in V1.4 - but the functionality is gone in 6.5. We could export to MAPI, or to application without printing and saving. Now our only option (in V6.5) is to use a workflow process which is very cumbersome when trying to use Outlook contacts to email a document.
Good suggestion. I would be ideal to have the print button go to the printer, but a dedicated PDF button that goes directly to PDF.
