To better follow product in industries where revision is important, enable revision numbering and management at the product, BOM, Routing, Lot, Serial Number level.

Enable order entry to specify revision number ordered.

Follow Inventory by revision number.

Keep History of master files by revision number

• To add to this suggestion, X3 should have Engineering Change Orders that provide an approval workflow and an audit trial of changes to the BOM or routing. For an obsolete component, rev management should allow entry of an end date or allow the existing stock to flush through while preventing a reorder.

• This is surprising that X3 does not have this functionality. PFW (our previous software) did. This is critical in the manufacturing world. Historical BOM tables are a must have.
