Sometimes there are tasks to be done by some work centers that are not product related. It could be maintenance, or it could be a prototype run for the engineer. These tasks usually do not involve with a part number nor a BOM. We need this type of work order because it needs to be part of the scheduling process for work center load. Currently, X3 would not allow work orders for "not stock managed" part numbers, nor parts without BOM. I understand that there may be a whole costing calculation ties in with work orders. But can we a have different work order functions that ties the labor to the expense? Because without work orders for these invisible tasks, the work center load may be underestimated.

  • Aside a dummy released product (tht has to be managed in stock), it's possible to use the capacity variation (set on the work center function)to take into account the none availibilty of work center during maintenance. It's even possible to set these none available period in mass using the function FUNTDUVAR.
