When exporting to Excel from a requester, or other location, if the quantity of data exceeds a certain size then X3 will choose to export to a Comma Separated File instead of applying the standard Excel formatting. The current restrictions for Excel are listed below and should be observed by X3 instead:


Excel 2003 has a 65,536 row by 256 column limitation

  • Anxious to see this one come tru. This is exactly why we are exporting - to look at a lot of data!!

  • To clarify the topic, if the [ # of rows ] * [ # of columns ] is greater than a certain amount, a CSV format will be applied. The restriction is less than the max allowable by Excel, as stated in within the links above.

  • This would absolutely make a difference to X3 users. Excel is a predominant player in analysis. X3 should not be the limitation in that functionality.
