ADC transaction entry doesn't follow a logical sequence -- drilling down from field to field from general to specific.

Looking at the transactions in ADC, it would seem to me if something is lot controlled or serial controlled that the order of the transactions should be

WO
Product
Lot
Serial
Loc
Status
Qty

This makes sense from a drillable view going from wider to more defined.
Product --- Lot --- Serial --- Location --- Status --- Qty

Currently the sequence goes Product -- Qty --- Location --- Lot
or Product --- Qty -- Unit / Measure --- status --- Location -- Lot

This is not a logical sequence.

After you enter a valid product, you must enter a valid location. If sage finds that specific item in the loc, it will use the status it found matching that loc. This is OK. You'd have a problem if there were some of the same lot in the same loc, as two or more statuses. A, R, Q.

If you use a loc that the item is not in according to sage, it will leave a blank on the status. The tranasaction will never complete at the end. This is OK.

The main issue is, if you enter an item say 885000053.00U, that has many lots of A and R status in the same large location ( LENX, or say CONV). Sage will use the status of the first roll it finds in that location and then proceed to quantity…then lot. This happens before we have entered the specific lot ( where sage would actually know the status of the roll for sure. Operators sometimes don't recognize why sage will not let them transfer a roll due to this
