In some sales organizations it is not uncommon to have sales representatives with specialized knowledge (ex: technical expertise). What that is the case, they are assigned specific products and sometimes product families. Logic that allows them to be assigned as the sales rep for the product even when they don't own the customer account is needed.

This request should have included a mention of by product and ship-to. The ship-to was omitted by mistkake.
Any improvement in commissions and sales rep assignments would be appreciated. We have many large customers who have locations across the country, but one centralized billing address. Commission processing with multiple sales reps and multiple sales regions is very challenging in X3 and requires us to manually process about 50% of our commissions.
Agreed! Not only do we assign sales reps based on shipping location, but also on product ordered. We absolutely need to be able to assign sales reps this way in X3. We are currently trying to use the "notes" section on the customer record to notify customer service how to assign reps on incoming sales orders, but the notes are often missed and it would just be much easier to be able to assign the default for commissions on the customer record.
Agreed and we would need something flexible.
I actually like the price list functionality a lot and was envisioning something along the same lines where you could pick elements of tables (like ITMMASTER, BPCUSTOMER, BPADDRESS to name a few) and based on the key formed by these elements, we would have 2 reps assigned to that key.
any updates on this functionality?
