Earlier version of Sage ERP X3 (pre-v6) had a feature that allowed you to define a list of substitute or replacement products on the product record. This list of products would then appear within the material detail line within work order processing. This option allowed a shop employee to quickly identify an acceptable substitute product when a work order shortage was encountered. An option was provided that would replace the original product on the work order with the selected replacement. This function is missed and users would like to see it return.
