Container Management should allow you to change the Receiving Site directly on a container line. It will allow you to do this if you are splitting the line but it won’t allow you to easily do this if you are not splitting the line. The only way is to drill down to the purchase order, find the related PO line and then override the site which is extremely cumbersome considering you may have to do this with many products in the container.
Alternatively, an even better idea is to have the ability to define the Receiving Site at the container level since all of the lines in the container would normally go to the same site (unless it is split along the way). This in turn could automatically update the Receiving Site in the associated PO lines (automatically split if required).
Often companies with multiple domestic warehouses do not know the specific warehouse they will ship the product to when they place the order with an overseas supplier due to the long lead times that are often associated with ordering product overseas. Also, a container may consist of many different line items from many different purchase orders for one or more factories (i.e. suppliers) associated with that vendor.
