For many organizations it is critically important to keep close tabs on their competition. It would be helpful if there was a new business partner type dedicated for keeping track of this. I could envision it having an Identity, Address, Financial, Products, Customers, Prices, Notes and Contacts tabs to start.
Products tab - it should contain a list of the competitive products cross referenced to the organization's internal parts.
Customers tab - this tab should contain a list of the organization's customers that this competitor also services
Prices tab - sometimes the organization's sales reps are able to ascertain from their clients the prices the competitor is providing them for a competitive product, this information is very useful to management.
On the back end if there was a nice crystal report that summarized all this information in a meaningful way, I'm sure customers would love it.
