It would be helpful if there was an original promise date on both the sales order header/lines and the purchase order header/lines. For example at present a buyer issues a PO to a supplier with an expected receipt date of 6/15. A couple days later they supplier comes back and indicates that there is a delay and the new receipt date will be 6/20. At present the user has to update the expected receipt date to reflect this if they want things to show up correctly in their MRP, but when they do so they lose visibility to what was originally promised (i.e. they can't measure how well the supplier is performing to their promises). This same principle holds true on the sales side when the organization wants to measure their performance against promise to customers. If these fields are added to the system it would be nice if during the initial order entry the user only needed to specify the ship date/receipt date and the original ship/receipt date would automatically be populated.
