The xlsx file format is now the main structure used for Excel but not available yet with Sage for export. The current xls export function would do well to be modified to fit the upgraded extension as the primary method of transferring data. This will eliminate the extra dialog involved in opening exported files. Today when users save a report to the new extension there are two files that remain; the exported xls version and a formatted xlsx version. Shifting to the xlsx format will avoid the duplication.
