There is a check box for disposable earnings so that the deduction happens AFTER all the priority deductions (such as child support and garnishments). So you will want to check that box for optional deductions like 401k and health.
We have the box checked and this still does not work. Garnishments are supposed to be taken from the disposible earnings...not the gross earnings. We can set the calculation type to disposible earnings and check the box but these do not make the max % determinations, the max type does. We cant ever take more than 25-50% of the disposible earnings. Sage 100 Contractor only has the option to set the max to gross earnings...which in some cases withholds more than the legal limit. The only option is to manually check and override them every week :/ This is Federal law and Sage should really fix this.
