Currently, MAS 90 only allows one bin location per warehouse.
Frequently businesses have more items than possible to store in one bin location, and distributing the items to multiple bin locations would simplify physical counts and picking orders.

This is frequently a deal breaker. While ACS group has a very functional enhancement, multi-bin REALLY SHOULD be part of the core product. A very big yes vote here.

We have asked for this for over 20 years. This is a very big deal, though as it entails so many changes as it is like a "sub warehouse" feature and if costs have to be tracked by Bin Number you better have bar coding to make this actually work.
Sage should just buy & integrate ACS's solution instead of reinventing the wheel. Ron has operators standing by for the call from Sage...
Hightower, Inc. also has a Multi-Bin enhancement. There are likely others out there. Has anyone done a comparison?
If this were to be implemented, I would like to see sub-G/L accounts available for setting, not just at the Product Line level or Warehouse level as currently available, but also at the Bin Location level.
ACS Groups Multi-Bin is better than Hightower's.
If implemented I would like to see a recalulation utility (much like IMZBL1) built into the product to address out of balance issues between the standard inventory quantity on hand and the multi-bin quantities on hand.
Multi-Bin functionality in MAS is a necessity for distribution businesses! It is unrealistic for an ERP system that claims to handle the business solutions of of a distribution business to expect that each inventory item will have only one bin location in a warehouse. If you actually visit the warehouses of your customers, you will see that their inventory items are frequently put away in multiple locations throughout the warehouse, and the customers' only options are to track put-away and picking processes in an external warehouse management system or an external spreadsheet.
Does Sage plan on implementing a Multi-Bin option?
i have the iig version and it works great , i would love to have this in your core program
This is the most asked for feature. There is no distribution company that does not need this. We have to develop and use an outside application for this. It has been brought up year after year with no customer satisfaction.
I do not see how putting this feature would be hard, a lot of other ERP solutions already implement it and it works fine. Maybe Sage has an agreement with their add-on partners so that they can also make some moolah?
If Sage had this feature it would be the most powerful and easy to use (the best combination) ERP solution in my opinion.
We installed MultiBin from Hightower and we are having nightmares!! Sage pretty please make the multi-bin solution a part of your inventory management system.
We had this issue on a large project. We were able to reference two locations in the single field. We could only do this because our locations are short. ie 1A2, 1=row,A=column,2=shelf. so when we had two locations we just did 1A2/13C5. this let everyone know where to find the parts. And when the large project was completed, we just went back to the single location.
Frankly, it is ludicrous to call a piece of software that only allows one bin location per item an inventory management module. In my 15 years in distribution and supply chain management I have never seen a warehouse that could store all items in one location. Had I been at my current employer when they were seeking software, this would have been a deal breaker. Multiple locations for an item are a basic requirement for the core product.
Multi-Bin with a function to transfer inventory to another warehouse AND include the "Landed Cost" incurred for the transfer. That would be a dream come true and simplify the workaround we currently do to capture landed costs for our transfers.

HELP US SAGE!!!! WE NEED MULTIPLE BIN LOCATIONS!!! By not providing a system that has this feature you are forcing us into a Third Party software situation!!!
We need this.
I am new to Sage 100. I was quite shocked to learn about this limitation with Sage. I have successfully helped many different manufacturing and distribution companies with their inventory control processes and needs using other ERP/Inventory Control solutions out there. Very few of these companies could have properly and efficiently managed their inventory with only one bin location per item per warehouse.
Even though I really like what I have learned about Sage 100 so far, I believe that this limitation is a real problem.
ACS has a good WMS product that is really good for multi bin, multi warehouse and inventory mgt. Makes physical counts a breeze. in the mean time we keep voting!
