Many customers have different forms for different types of customers. Statement Printing Window in Period End Processing and in Customer Maintenance does not follow the new format of the other reports and have the check boxes for Keep Open at the bottom of the screen, and doesn't have the options for Save Settings either. A HUGE problem is that from Customer Maintenance I can't change the form code to print to -- it defaults to whatever form code was last used in the Period End | Statement Printing window. That renders the option to print a statement for a customer from their invoices tab pretty much USELESS since I have to go to Period End to change the form code. It also makes the product inconsistent.

Comments

  • VERYIMPORTANT

  • Agreed. I wish it would allow to select the form code from the Customer Maintenance Statement screen!

  • We were happy to see that in version 2017.2 (I also tested in 2016.5), when you launch Statement printing from within Customer Maintenance/Inquiry, you can select an alternate form code from the default. However, when you do that, the customer number selection is cleared, so unless you are paying attention and re-select the customer code for the customer you have open on your screen, you end up printing statements for all users. Sage does not consider this behavior a bug, as I do, and directed me to this Idea to add my comments.

  • If this is "working as designed" then the designer needs to be debugged!

  • @Barbara, If we can now change the form code in Customer Maintenance, then there needs to be a Quick Print Option to "hold" the specific customer" when you change the form.

  • I like the quick print idea. Working as designed is not working as desired. This would be a quick win in the usability department! Now that PR is almost out the door, it would be good to take some time before the next major project to get some quick wins out the door!

  • Don't clear the customer number selection! That's the opposite of helpful.
