In our industry (Restaurant), there are times where different functions pay different pay rates. Currently, you can only assign an EE one labor code and only two pay rates. We need the ability to add other job codes and pay rate for that job. We had to use another software to work around this issue.

  • You can do this with earnings codes. Setup everyone with their standard rate as pay rate 1. Setup pay rate 2 to be 1.00. Then setup separate earnings codes where the multiplier is the hourly rate and tell it to use pay rate 2. Example: $1.00 (pay rate 2) x $7.50 (multiplier) x 8 (hours) = $60.00.

  • I see what you are saying. That was recommended to us but I did not want so many earning codes. My original rec would make it simpler. Other payroll programs easily accomplish that.
