Currently in MAS90 Sales Orders Options, you can answer Y/N/Prompt for retaining Sales Orders in Sales Order History. Only by answering PROMPT will you be able to turn on entering Cancellation Reasons, but this also allows the people that maintain orders (entering, changing, deleting) the option to not retain the deleted sales order in History. My requested change is .. Make the entering Cancellation Reasons a separate Sales Order module setup option. Then the options would be "Retain deleted sales orders in History" as Y/N and "Enter Cancellation Codes" as Y/N. By answering "Y" to both, a Cancellation Code popup window would occur when deleting the Sales Order without giving the person the ability to NOT save the deleted order in History.

I agree. This is a good idea for being able to track cancelled orders and to be sure ALL cancellations are being tracked.
To take this a step further. I would prefer that Sales Orders and Quotes have separate security features. I don't want my salespeople cancelling Sales Order but it would be nice if they could cancel their quotes and give a cancellation reason so we could have a valid pipeline report.
Along the same lines, is retaining deleted LINES - MAS90 has an option to say “no” which will delete the line without a cancellation reason, a “prompt” which will give the option to do either, & an option to say “yes” which isn’t “yes” at all, but rather in essence is the same as prompt!
Anyone can go into a sales order and delete a line item even after it’s been picked/left the warehouse. This isn’t good - it makes theft awfully easy. Why doesn't Mas have a safeguard against this? (taking permission away from deleting lines isn't practical - admin point of contact can't be expected to delete lines for entire sales staff)
**I think they either need to make you put in a reason code if it is set to yes, or they should allow you to disable the no option when it is set to prompt. **
I agree. We don't want saving to history to be optional
AND we also want to make Cancellation Codes a required field when a line item or sales order is deleted.
In the 2025 Release, a new option will be added in Sales Order Options and Purchase Order Options that will require entry of a cancel/reason code when an Order/Quote is deleted, or a line on the Order/Quote is deleted.
The 2025 Release is planned for April 2025.
