15 characters is too short a field for today's PO numbers

Yes! I agree with Heather - PO #'s with our Gov't contracts are now > 15 char. And some newer purchase order processing systems that our non-Gov't customers use create PO #'s that are getting longer all the time.
ABSOLUTELY! Almost all of our customers are SAP users, and those PO numbers are ridiculously long. You CAN'T truncate them without causing a huge hurdle for collections. Customers will use any excuse to delay payment. You can't expect them to "connect the dots" for you. The order acknowledgements and the invoices need to be "right-on"!
Good luck with this request since the item description is only 30 chars long. If you change this you had better increase the item description.
