Even though we have the ability to add UPC or EAN codes to the Item Alias as General records, this often conflicts with the Customer Alias when trying to create a Crystal Report with both UPC and Customer Alias. Since UPC and EAN numbers are permanent parts of an Item's identification in the retail and wholesale world, it would seem logical that they have their own fields. In our case, we need the UPC codes for our USA clients/vendors and the EAN codes for the rest of the world. We make some items with both codes (EAN and UPC) as they are distributed wordwide.

  • This is SO important. I asked for it 5 years ago in a call to Sage. The EAN / UPC is an attribute of an item. It should not be in a separate table. We have added a UDF to hold the UPC and now must maintain it in 2 places. We need it for invoices and packing lists, product lists, quotes, labels and other areas. We really need this in the Inventory Master table
