The current "memo feature" in MAS is OK, but often times not flexible enough for day to day operations.

During the SO data entry process, you often use comment codes to note information about a specific order situation. Many times, the comments are for internal purposes only and should not be be seen by the customer. It would be very nice to be able to use a check box concept on comment lines that allow you to specify if the comment should appear on SO forms, SO invoices, packing lists, picking sheets etc.

As as past Sales Administration manager who used a software system called MCBA, this ability was invaluable to my CS staff to manage orders and communicate to Manufacturing. I would love to see this in MAS and I know many users who want this.

The same concept can/should be applied to BOM forms, or PO forms...anywhere where comment lines are used.

Comments

  • This can actually be done using Custom Office, put a check box on the grid to check to print comment. then you customize your form in Crystal to either print or suppress based on the check box. We have done this to print bold or highlighted as well.

  • We have modified the Crystal report in the past to ignore certain comment ranges (e.g. anything above a C50 is an internal comment and will not print on the crystal forms that are sent to the customer. Has been working at one client for six years now.
