An Open Order History File, or some means of tracking the level of open orders at any point in time historically, would allow users to gauge improving or declining volume trends of open orders via reports. For example, seeing that historically our open order volume is increasing for one branch but decreasingf for another can help us predict the future and make management decisions now. Also, we can see that we normally have say the highest open order volume in September each year, so if this September is very low, it would prompt management investigation and possibly action sooner, on the front end sales cycle, versus possibly months after the impact occurred and things invoice through. Currently, we pull open order reports on the last day of each month and track on a spreadsheeet. However, if we miss pulling one right on the last day, we lose accuracy in the reports, since there is no history. I realize it's probably hard to have history when invoicing hasn't happened, but perhaps there is a means to accomplish such information tracking that is built into MAS.
