Please add a security option to role maintenance to prevent a sales order line's quantity shipped from being modified from Sales Order Entry and also prevent a sales order line with a shipped quantity from being deleted from Sales Order Entry.
A backordered sales order allows the "shipped" quantity to be modifed. During conversion this may be necessary to allow accurate backorders to be recorded. However, once an order has been invoiced, alteration of the shipped quantity may potentially lead to an overship/undership of the item on the order. In addition, a shipped line on a sales order can be deleted. This also affects MRP.
Attempting to reconcile the shipped quantities from invoices history to the shipped quantities in Sales Order and/or Sales Order history is near impossible with current ability to modify shipped quantity on sales order lines.
Please note, the purchase order module does not allow modification of the quantity received from Purchase Order Entry.
