Create an SO type of "Drop Ship" and then allow the client to decide if they want SO Picking Sheets to be printed - or not - for Drop Ship Orders.

Right now, v4.4 prints SO Picking Sheets for drop ship orders and many users do not want this, especially clients who do large volume shipping from multiple warehouses. If you create an SO type of "Drop Ship", and then have a setting in SO/Setup/SO Options for printing SO pick sheets that can be turned on/off, it would give users greater flexibility in how to handle drop ship SO orders. This would also prevent the printing of unecessary picking sheets and streamline warehouse operations.

I don't see this recommended by anyone else yet, and sure do hope it can be incorporated QUICKLY because we have a client who does HIGH volume shipping and this is a BIG problem for them.

  • This isn't really the forum for this, but why not add a UDF check box to identify Drop Ship Orders, then save a report setting for Picking Sheets with Not Equal to Y for this UDF? Picking Sheets for these order types should not be included for printing as a result, plus you can identify the Drop Ship orders.

  • MAS 90 doesn't currently print drop ship items on pick sheets.

  • To Brian: Our client prints pick sheets by ranges...drop ships could be part of the range. We have modified the pick sheet to suppress drop ship items, but we dont' even want the drop ship orders included in the printing selection at all.

To Dawn: the drop ship items don't print, but the comments on the order do. If we do UDF's or conditional suppressions etc, it still prints a blank page. Several of us in the office tested this and we all had the same result, so I know it's not just me being stupid.

  • Drop ship orders would be excluded from printing, not just the lines, so printing by range would not be an issue.
