When entering items in Sales Order Entry it would be nice for those items to default to a default warehouse code defined in Customer Maintenance.

  • You can add a default warehouse code to the ship-to.

  • This doesn't work. When you do this and add an item to the sales order, it doesn't default to that warehouse selected. Confirmed this with the sage phone support and they directed me here.

  • Are you looking to default by customer AND item together and not just by customer ship to?

  • For example, we have a customer called Ebay which is used for our ebay sales. All parts sold using this customer account we want the parts to default to our Ebay warehouse and not our regular warehouse. We cant do it based on item because we may sell that same item in both warehouses so for us based on customer would be helpful. I could also see this being helpful for companies with multiple warehouses, and be able to select the closest warehouse to that customer based on their location.

  • This has become a very important issue for our business. We are about to bring in 7 different divisions into our Sage 100 system and they all ship out of their own warehouses. 99% of our customers don't have different ship to locations so it is a very tedious to create a ship to for every single customer just to put in the default warehouse code. it's a lot of unneccesary records created, and it's an ineficient process compared to just creating a default warehouse field at the customer level.

I would also be happy with defaulting the warehouse code based on the AR division code chosen. Gets me to the same solution.
