We don't know what row the item is on unless we print the entire SO. We often have sales orders with over 100 lines and need to find one item to note serial number or lookup pricing.

Put a quick find button in Sales Order Entry to find an item number similar to the quick row feature.

In Sales Order Line Entry, next to Quick Row is a magnifying glass button and it will allow you to choose the grid column you wish to search, an operand and the search value. If your operand finds multiple lines,there is a Find Next button to move you through the list. I believe this is what you are asking for.
That is a great feature, however, being able to click on the Item Description header and having the lines go in ascending/descending order would be even better!
