Sage 100 has many modules. It would be nice to make it easier for users to navigate. When a user only has access to AP, it would make it easier if only the AP module showed up for that user's role instead of getting a message that access is denied for the modules they do not have access to. This will also make security easier to maintain. If they do not see it, they do not have access.

You can set up a "My Tasks" menu for each user that contains just shortcuts to what they need to access.
Or have the items they don't have access to be greyed out so they know they do not have access to that option.
Do SOMETHING automatically please. Grayed, out, not present, something. Having the user not see it sure elimiates many of the role-security question. If you can't see it, then you can't do it...
I have 450 companies and some users should not have access to certain tasks, or modules, in about 15 of those companies.
Prior versions of Sage 100 (mas90/200) allowed this.
I cannot stress the importance of being able to keep specific employees out of sensitive data.
This is a major flaw in the Sage 100 current version.
A change was made for the new desktop launcher released with Sage 100c version 2016 that limits the menu selections to only those the user has rights to.
