Companies such as Walmart require suppliers to put radio-frequency identification tags on shipping crates and pallets with embedded electronic product codes (EPC) for tracking and identifying items at the individual crate and pallet level. MAS 500 should be enhanced to support RFID in order to comply with these requirements.
