If the majority of your customers allow multiple sales orders per shipment, but you have some who do not, you have to decide which setting to use in set up so options, or have someone who is in the correct security group (usually not the clerk who generates and edits shipments) go in and out of set up so options, turning the setting on and off. Or, if you choose to then allow multiple sales orders per shipment, then in order to generate and edit shipment for customers who do not allow it, you can only generate one shipment at a time for each single sales order, even if you are shipping from 10 different sales orders at once, which is extremely time consuming.
This can easily be alleviated by moving the setting into maintain customers, where it can be set on a customer specific level.
