Scenario: You have a large deposit. Let's say over 100 checks. The web site from which you access the deposit does not put the checks in numerical order and there is no way to sort them. So you enter all the checks in the order they are in on the deposit. After entering all the checks, you find that the deposit doesn't balance out. You've made a mistake entering one (or more) checks and you have to find it. You go back into "Enter Cash Receipts" and click on the search button to bring up a list of all the checks you entered. You find that the system has put the checks in numerical order but, the web site where you access your deposit still is not in numerical order and you can't sort them without exporting to a spreadsheet and doing a sort. Time consuming at best. Even if you do this, when you find your mistake, you have to go back to the web site, and find the check to see details on what you should have entered.
Resolution: Have MAS500 keep the checks in the same order in which they are entered. Why change the order? It doesn't matter if you're working from a list of checks on a web site, or the actual checks in a stack on your desk. Having to sort them is time consuming and frustrating!
