I agree, we use a time and attendance software that has a utility that sends all my job costing data to Sage for payroll but we are considering a different payroll service and they want to export the job costing data into a CSV file but support told me today that they are unable to support that request at the moment. This would be so valuable for me so I can retain my job costing data in Sage and not have to use two separate systems.
It's absurd that Sage does not allow for an import into payroll. Sage 300 allows for time to be imported into payroll.
There is now a product called "Sage 100 Contractor Data Integration Suite" which has these capabilities...

I just don't get why import is not a function inside of Sage and you have to ask a "consultant" - being able to import AP Invoices in bulk and assigning accounts, or importing csv files would go a long way at making this program not seem so clunky. Too many add-ons to get the functionality one needs on day-to-day activity. Makes for a lot of time needed to just do payables. Especially when you have to take copies of the checks and attach them to each payable invoice. Other software I have used automatically stores the copy in the program and its done. Its nice to have the copies if one needs them instead of getting copies from the bank.
