Sage needs to add a program enhancement so that 1009-Interest and 1099-Rent forms will calculate and list the correct interest only and rents only amounts on those two respective 1099 form lines. It shouldn’t be that hard to do. All that would have to be done is to have two special general ledger chart of accounts code numbers, one for interest charges and one for rents, that would be directly tied to the totals that need to be listed on the respective 1099-Interest and 1099-Rents forms. The end users of your product shouldn’t have to manually make an adjustment in order for the 1099 form to have the correct totals listed on it. Please submit an enhancement request to your programming department as all of the accounting software packages that I’ve used besides Sage Contracting has those features built into their packages.
