Daily Payroll 5-5-1 grid should allow an employee to list the job and not have to have the cost code. Our company usually performs more than one project for a client, so the job number is important, but all employees do not know the cost code.

In order to job cost you MUST have a cost code. If an employee doesn't know what cost code to use, that is a procedure issue you need to address. You have a budget, and the job supervisor should be reviewing the timecards and putting the hours against the budgeted work.
