If you want to see the transaction history for payments (in ANY form) to a specific vendor, it will only show up in 4-4 in the payments tab if they were entered in 4-2. Well, when we are paying utility payments, we don't enter the bill, we straight enter the check in 1-1. Now, if I want to see how much I I've paid the gas company, I can't find it in 4-4 because I didn't enter the bill first. I know they won't show up in "paid invoices" but what's the difference between "paid invoices" and "payments" then?

I've had the same problem. Hope a fix is in the works.
Your right when it's a payment, it should list ANY type of payment to that Vendor. Regardless of how it was entered and paid. ALL payments should show up. It's stupid that you have to go to 4-1-5 and have to run a report to get all the payments. It should all be in one window.
This is needed!
this is very needed! I want to see vendor history for auto payments that I run through checks and bank charges
THIS is needed I write a lot of 1-1 checks and I hate having to run the 4-1-5 report to see them.
I would like this option as well, but either have a check box to include checks written in 1-1 so you can still see the difference where it was written or specify the source in the report. Thanks!
AGREED! As a work-around, I created a query to view all payments to a Vendor or payee. It works fine, but absolutely this should be addressed asap.
Agreed, when posting payroll liability checks now a days everything is online and entering them in the 1 - 1 is the best for time, but you can not see them after you enter them unless you start hunting through stupid reports.
Checks issued at 1-1 need to be attached using the vendor #. Then print a vendor payment journal at 4-1-5. But be sure not to edit a previously written check from 1-3 because then it changes to a journal entry and won't show up anymore. Those should be voided and re-issued in order to maintain the link to the payment journal.
