If I know a vendor has the word BUILDERS in it, but I cannot remember the name that PRECEDES the word BUILDERS (as in Acme Builders), I SHOULD be able to do *BUILDERS in the search window, so that ALL companies with the word BUILDERS in it come up. We USED to have this option, and it has disappeared! We need it back! With over 5000 vendors, search, as it is now, is usually next to useless!

Yes we used to look this up with *F4 or something and you're right it doesn't work anymore. We do need this back!!
oops I just tried it, *...F4 works when you are entering a bill for a vendor,4-2 on the vendor line put in *builder, then do F4 and the list will bring up names with builder in it. Hope that helps
It's needed for searching in any of the list's, e.g. list of parts by name. It's really difficult to find all parts with a string in the name. All parts with "table" or "chair" rather than having the part start with the word you are searching for
Solution: you need to type the word or letters first, then the *, then press F4 in order to search the entire field (rather than just the beginning)
I tried the *F4 and it doesn't work in the 4-2 window. I'm using version 20.3.59
It would be most helpful to have the wildcard option in ALL lookup windows and be able to search by *win and win* etc. The more ways there is to look up data the more likely everyone will use the software and not get frustrated because they can't find it. I sure hope this topic wins and they apply the update soon!
When people are busy they need a help screen that actual helps the user search for the information within Sage. A robust system needs to find the word whether it is the first or part of the second. This would alleviate people from by passing the system and making it aggravating for everyone else who have to go back and recreate system trails to meet the paper trails.
Really would love to see this corrected and updated soon!
