Build a report that shows profit and loss from actual income and expense and not from a budget

Comments

  • Take report 6-1-4-71 and allow me to identify the date/period range.
Also create this report with more than one job on the page ex. Over/under report.
Best to add a revenue column and calculated P/L column to the 6-1-6-21 report which does allow you to specify the Date/Period range.
Please let me know if any of the above is currently available and I just can't find it.
    Thanks

  • I don't think this is likely to happen without a HUGE change, because Sage separates the GL account activity from the job costs and equipment costs that were created with the GL transactions. I can see the reasons for why they did it - it offers certain advantages, but overall I think it was a mistake. I am always running into complications from this. Notice that GL entries don't ask for an associated job number? Notice that the equipment cost screen from the GL entry doesn't ask for a job number either? That's because job number isn't retained with either one. Only the job costs carry the job number - which is how they generate the profitability of the job "from the budget." This is why it would be ungodly for them to do as you - and I - would like. That said, it would be my greatest wish that they would change that setup - because that would 'fix' or enable SO many needed things, including your idea ...

  • There is already a job income statement 6-1-4 #71

  • To view profit and loss by job, run the existing 6-1-4-61 Job Profitability Combined Contract and Service report.
