We have approximately 40 salaried employees out of 450 who are not job costed. We process payroll weekly and would like to find a way to avoid having to enter the payroll for those 40 salaried employees.

I agree! time consuming to enter in salary every week.
Along these lines - I use the payroll record template for each employee. It would be great to be able to "load" all the templates at one time instead of one at a time each week.
It would be great if the salaried people could pop up in a window and you could select individuals or all and the date range then when you save it automatically creates the payroll records for those individuals
In payroll records under the file option, there is a way to save a record as a template. If you save each salaried employee as a template, then when you create payroll for each of those salaried employees, you can load that template and input the correct date for that payroll.
Hope this helps!
I use daily payroll, and i put all of the total hours (ie 40 hrs) on the last day of the week. you would open daily payroll on the last day of the week and pull in my template that has all of the salary people, then create timecards from that. It's a great workaround
