Would like a payroll security option to hide executive/salary payroll information from users entering hourly payroll.

  • Maybe this can be easily accomplished by disabling the dropdown selection feature in the employee column and just defaulting to the person logged in. Maybe there is a user security adjustment needed as well, but it seems like it would be an easy fix. Having this feature would eliminate my current use of Excel and allow all employees to enter their time direct into the system saving us a couple hours a week! I don't want to implement additional software either.

  • I would like a payroll person to be able to enter and process our hourly employees only.

  • This is such an important issue with obvious concerns by many. Why hasn't this been addressed?! Executive payroll information needs to be hidden unless you are given security rights to access. I have blocked access to the payroll clerk from payroll reports but the information is still accessible in other areas ( i.e. timecard journals 5-2-8)

  • Yeah, right now I have a separate Sage company where only I have access for salaried/execs. Then I do lump sum journal entries into the working Sage company. Not a good process at all.

  • I like to see it where to be able to use the employee record tables ( earning deduction benefits) be a Log in. That way only persons trained to do Payroll and have agree to following HR rule pertaining to the security of employee can be kept and that Project Management team Can run payroll reports they need to through the Modular.

    The executive surly do not want others seeing what they take home. Too many false impression are assumed when one is not trained in Payroll or Human recourses.

    It is appears that Accounting did not get a vote in how this was set up. An F7 security command on the EMPLOYEES would also work.

  • This looks very similar to the 3-5 option for 'job access' - it would be great if this could be done in employee cards/payroll.

  • This particular issue has 52 votes. Other issues are being processed with much less. Could anyone let us know if there is a resolution for this issue or resolutions being worked on? This is a serious issue that consumes much of (my) managements time to merely enter in license and certificate information for training because the Admin cannot have access to owner, management and other office personnel information. Thank you.

  • I've brought up this issues for years! It was initially promised when we purchased the software over 10 years ago. I do not get, especially with this many votes, why it is not being made a priority. Any support person I complain to says it's not really that hard of an enhancement.

  • actually hide from any report or data screen you wish to secure from users. this is a regular issue that requires multiple work arounds by management.

  • Remember that users could enter their time in daily payroll for hourly employees. There you can hid the rate field data. But I do understand the need to restrict by user level (maybe by position?) or all salaried people. Or give certain security groups access to only certain employees (excluding owners)

  • If you have a subscription entitlement, Simple Time Entry is available in version# 23.1. This allows time entry for hourly employees in screen 5-6-2 without being able to see anyone else’s time or pay information. The program uses these time entries to create either 5-2-2 Payroll Records or 5-5-1 Daily Payroll records.

    With Simple Time Entry, you can have your employees enter time remotely on their mobile device and submit it to the back office for processing. You can also have your field supervisors use their mobile device to review time submitted by other employees.
