In 9-2 parts leave the average cost field blank when using copy/paste to create a new part.
It would be nice to be able to copy a similar existing part to a new record, make a few changes and create the new part. Currently the average cost of the record being copied writes to the new record. The copy/paste feature doesn't copy quantities on hand but it does copy the average cost. The result is that you can't use the copy/paste feature for a new part to save time since it skews any sort of reporting you might be using to monitor average costs relative to default costs or price until there is a quantity received.

Agreed! I didn't realize this was happening in the background, and now when we export price lists it's very confusing because the average cost is incorrect for so many parts.
