Updating Sage is a no brainer, but it requires interactively clicking next, next, next, etc. Please provide us with the ability to do a silent install by using command line parameters. This would allow us to automate the process through scripts and save a couple hours of labor every time we do an update.

  • Better yet, allow the program to automatically update to the newest version installed on the server when the program is opened on a user's PC. Paperless Environments (pVault & Sage Paperless) does this very well. Once the newest version is installed on the server, it automatically updates when a user opens the program on their PC.

  • It is very time consuming to have to go around to each individual computer and run updates. An automated, mandatory upgrade when a person logs in would be wonderful.

  • Silent installations should be a mandatory feature for almost every piece of software ever developed. We use the software at an educational institution where we install it on several computer labs (potentially hundreds of installations). The installer built using Installshield has built-in switches for silent installations, yet they don't work. Installation and updating should be made seamless no matter what working environment you are in.

  • I cant even contain my frustration - this should be at the top of the list for Sage. They are so behind the curve that it isnt even funny. Having my techtarded users trying to install a program is hard enough, getting them to do it correctly even that much harder. I had to stay 2 hours after just to manually install it on every workstation because of this not being able to work.

I tried wrapping the installer with Wix and because of the way these developers designed the update, it wont even work. I am ready to leave this company just because of this software and the way Sage manages their DEV team.

  • HEY SAGE YOUR SUCKY CODE/UPDATES ARE SHOWING!

  • It would make such a HUGE difference to have the ability to silently install the software updates. I have restricted admin privileges on all workstations, so the automatic update from the server prompts the users to enter admin credentials, which they don't have. To avoid this, I have to log into each device with admin creds and run the Sage update. This takes hours to get down. If I could script it and have command line parameters for what components to install, I would literally save hours of time. This should not be too difficult for Sage's development team to accomplish.
