I have employees that are going to work day shift for 7 days and nights shift for 7 days. When on nights, they will be paid a differential rate for night shift. It would be nice if the program would allow two rates and we could choose days or nights when entering payroll.

We also do the same for our employees and pay them a 5% or 10% increase for their shift differential. It would be nice to be able to select the shift differential rates/percentages for the hours that qualify for shift differential.
Try setting up paygroups for this if the rates are predetermined. If it is simply a % increase based on the employees rate of pay then you will have to calculate it yourself. But you can do so on the fly by using the built-in calculator. Simply enter the rate and hit the * button to bring it up. Do whatever calculations you need and then hit enter to get the result, and enter again to put that result into the field in Sage.
