It would be great if we could run a report and get a full history of pay rates for an employee with the date of when the change occurred. Right now we have to go through and look in the notes as there is no way to get that information in one report.

I would say it would be nice to have a transaction History Report that we can run that gives us the whole history of an employee in one shot. Now I have to go year by year to see when the employee worked.
This is a perfect reason to use the yellow note pad for each employee. I document when they started, what benefits they are given, and then any changes during their employment including receipt of garnishment paperwork or disability claims. That way you only have to look at the notes in the current year.
it would perfect to see rate change history as well as total hours worked by year paid.
Be better to see "activity" history so you can log things like 1)rate change, 2)reviews, 3)promotions, 4)write up etc. Not just rate changes. The notes isn't a good place as it get bogged down with detail and its not organized.
This would be nice if it listed the pay rates so you know how much of a raise was given the prior year.
I'd actually add to that the ability to schedule a raise for a future date and keep the history.
That would be very helpful when filling out VOE's
I concur with all of the above. Again Foundations and ComputerEase have this ability so I do not understand why Sage does not.
Looks like this suggestion started over a year ago. Probably little chance it will happen by my suggestion, but here goes anyway.....
There needs to be a mechanism in the payroll module to allow Sage users to track pay increases. The current regular rate should not be editable unless it is affected by a screen that will allow you to make changes using a drop down of choices (pay increase types), such as "annual pay increase", "CLI" increase, all types will be created by the users/managers of Sage. This screen will allow the pay increase dollar figure and a date with notes. This way an employer will always have a history record to access what the regular rate was historically, and what actions affected the original hire wage.
Here's a little information that may help all users on the issue of pay rate increases/history. From the employee maintenance screen, enter the employee ID. Choose "View" and "Field History". If historical changes have been made to any field on the screen, the field that was updated will be highlighted. Place your cursor in the field you wish to view history for if a highlight exists, and select the F12 key. A new pop up will show all history for this field. It is unfortunate the pop up screen is so hard to get to. It would be nice to have the information more accessible and reportable. Perhaps in the next update?
Thanks Tina A for the suggestion to choose VIEW then FIELD HISTORY. That is a big help.
