We have found that the lien waivers are cumbersome to modify and design in Sage 100. Our old system (Maxwell Management Suite) used Word templates to create lien waivers. We were able to create any kind of lien waivers we needed and tie it back to the job. This also allowed us to be able to print a lien waiver "on the fly" or after the fact. If we needed a lien waiver after we finished a check run, we could go back to the lien waiver module and print a partial or final lien waiver for that check. The check number didn't pull into the template, but the templates were all modifiable so it could be added before printing it. A file was created for every lien waiver that was printed as well, so we always had record of the lien waivers we printed until we deleted them. The report writing software in Sage is so un-user friendly. If version 20 is going to be so much better, I don't know how that could be without using Word for lien waiver design and printing.

  • While i think the report writing software is pretty user friendly, I do think that waivers should be default reports. Why are preliminary notices reports but not progress and final releases? This aspect of S100C seems unfinished but I wonder if it has to do with each state's different laws on releases. Regardless, it lien tracking and lien printing needs to be added for a software with 'Contractor' in it's name.

  • Lien waivers definitely need to be available to print as reports not just at the time of payments to the Vendor/Sub, etc. The report writer is not bad once you learn the process, however, if you love the word lien waiver you've been using, just create a "shortcut" and past the word file on your preferred screen in Sage. - easy beans.

  • I agree

  • The lien waiver needs to contain the date and how paid (Check/Credit Card). This should automatically populate based on the payment you're making. (We provide a lien waiver with each check payment.) Have to do it in two steps now -- print the lien waiver; print the check; then handwrite on the lien waiver the Check # and Date

  • I would like to see the Chicago Title Insurance Company Partial and Final Waiver forms as an option for printing with check payments. This form has become the standard form every company, engineer and architech uses in our area.
